Client Description:
This growing company offering comprehensive interactive wireless solutions, products, and active wireless real-time networks seeks an executive level manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and vendor relationship guru – a Vice President of Manufacturing & Procurement and General Manager of a warehouse/fulfillment center-- reporting directly to the corporation’s COO at the HQ location. Combining corporate strategy with hands-on responsibility, this VP will enforce and expand our client’s long term capabilities, creating balance between manufacturing, sales, business development, engineering, product development, material planning, and customer fulfillment. Additionally, this person will be part of the Corporation’s strategic management team, influencing the business and technical global expansion of the company.
Responsibilities Will Include:
The VP will bring a deep understanding of the manufacturing and assembly process from design through shipment with a proven ability to build logistics management systems. Responsibilities include material planning with the sales team, coordination with manufacturing partners, negotiation with suppliers, as well as working with the design team.
Timely visit to vendors and suppliers will insure understanding of quality requirements, specifications, and delivery commitments. An understanding of wireless hardware technology and the ability to make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve efficiency will be key leadership characteristics sought in this position.
The VP will directly manage ‘day to day’ operations within the factory and the warehouse ensuring 1) The ongoing supply of all raw materials for consistent running of manufacturing operations and 2) Customer satisfaction by meeting scheduled shipments of finished product.
The top candidate will be a pragmatic manager with excellent communication skills and the strength to work under high pressure and rapid fire demands. The person in this position will lead a collaborative effort of tactical and strategic teams to ensure a cohesive alignment, pursuit and execution of the company’s continuous business plans.
The VP is tasked with the overall management, stabilization and fortification of daily operations and the logistics management system, ensuring our client a professional, high quality, manufacturing process by working cross functionally to provide the highest ROI in the assembly and manufacturing processes. The VP will drive efficiency, cost effectiveness and continuous improvement in all processes which involve manufacturing, procurement, quality and logistics. As an influencer, the person in this position will work with vendors in Asia and in the United States to ensure product quality, on-time delivery, and creative development of existing products and modification requirements for the constant changing wireless environment and a demanding customer base of enterprise users.
Requirements:
An understanding of wireless hardware technology and the wireless market is essential - keeping informed of all new developments and trends relative to the technology – with the ability to make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve efficiency. This technical background, coupled with a deep understanding of the processes and inter-workings of design, manufacturing, and customer fulfillment enables our VP to take responsibility for the entire manufacturing process and its successful result and the leadership of a stand alone fulfillment center that has a strong and responsible team environment.
Extensive experience to include:
Purchasing experience of advancing responsibilities (minimum 10 years) –
Proven ability to build logistics management systems --

Vendor selection, organization and negotiations–
Resource management including Asian contract manufacturers –
Material planning, extracting forecasts, and developing a production plan –
