This Chicagoland company is a leading designer and manufacturer of components and systems empowering communication inside and outside the enterprise. To help upgrade engineering resources and process, a new project management system that is part of the company’s stage-gate process development was recently introduced into its PDM.

Responsibilities Will Include:

Project Management Leadership Skills -- The engineering director we seek will strategically lead the more than 250 engineers within this global company’s work force in assisting and developing the optimal approach for project management for all engineering efforts. The company’s goal, with the right leadership in this position, will be to ensure the engineers from all disciplines are more effective, efficient, creative, and happier. This is a newly created position and the right candidate will have a stronger background in project engineering and global engineering leadership than in technically related products. However, because of the nature of the quickening pace of this 50+ year old company, the preference will be for a candidate who has had experience in engineering technology involving lean manufacturing environments that are sensitive to the exacting needs of its customers.

Requirements:

This will be an ideal step for someone currently in an engineering management position with excellence in project management leadership and who is now ready to take on a strategic leadership responsibility with a global leader whose design of systems integration and development of intelligent infrastructure for customers such as Cisco, IBM, and Boeing is critical to the success of communications.
