Product Line Manager w/ additional responsibilities & INFLUENCE on decisions -

Current global sales for the product line are only about one million dollars. With a focus on developing the new product line and expansion into other consumer products (such as computers and other wireless devices) growth over the next several years is expected to bring sales to about 100 million.

Responsibilities Will Include:

The Product Director will have full product management responsibility including definition of the business case for developing products for mobile handsets and consumer base products, P&L responsibility including necessary capital investments, pricing strategy, competitive analysis, make/buy analysis, go to market strategy, and handling a resource budget for obtaining the desired results.

Background must include strong business acumen (MBA preferred) with a successful history of product line or product management, a solid understanding of consumer and cell phone markets with a technical understanding of stamped metal and RF products being a plus.

Domestic and/or international travel expected 50% - Location in the St Louis office will allow better interaction with the GM of the Product Business Unit and other key players within the company’s global matrix. Vendors in the Asian market (Korea, China, & India) and OEMs in the handset market (LG, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, & Motorola) will require a considerable amount of interaction.

The challenge for the Product Director will be to develop the business case - profitability and the growth of the product on a global scale - taking full responsibility for success.

Requirements:

BS & MBA

PLM experience in handset market (development through launch)

P&L experience

Good communication and work well in a large company matrix environment

Direct experience with profit and margin development of new products

Technology:

mobile, mobility, cell phone, cellular, hand set, computer, consumer, personal devices, revenue, gross margins, product road map, metal casings, high end wireless products

Education:

BS with MBA

Salary Range :

to 125K (1st yr pkg)
